I wasn’t unkind to him, but … I don’t suppose he’ll phone me back. All right, we’re going to talk tonight about ‘Godhead, and that which is relative to It.’ And before I begin working on the board, I want to simply read to you some notes here, then we’ll start working so that we get an understanding as clear as we possible can...?... the Virgin Birth. And you’ll find that’s very, very important to believe certain things at this hour that’s relative to your welfare and ...Did you hear what I said?...relative to your welfare. Did you hear what I said? Well, you’ll start listening for it later on then. The great mystery of : (a) the Oneness of Godhead, and (b) the Oneness of the Father (the Godhead) and the Son (not Godhead...the Son’s not Godhead) is no mystery whatsoever. The explanation of that Oneness by students is a mess of confusing ideas supposedly based in Scripture. And we will strip aside all folly by simply going to the Word. Our first examination of the Word is that in the Old Testament there is absolutely no confusion about Godhead; there isn’t any at all. All thirty-nine books in the Old Testament testify to one God, as Bro. Branham said, particularly in ‘Joshua Parallels Ephesians’...vice-versa... [ Adoption, Part 1 : 60-05.15] El...El, Elah, Elohim ... sovereign as self-existent, one sovereign creator. Number 2: It is only in the New Testament that we have myriad’s of Scripture speaking of the ‘Son of God’ but never ‘God, the Son’. In the same New Testament you find God (Elohim) set forth as the Father of Jesus and Jesus is called the Only Begotten which means “ Uniquely Begotten” : in a way that no other person was ever begotten...a one-of-a-kind, set aside.

So, we read. 7. “The great Jehovah came down and was made tangible (That’s so you could touch Him.) by living in the body of His Own Son. Declaring and reconciling the world to Himself. Christ was nothing short of God, and God was nothing short of Christ. The two together made the Godhead bodily. Made a little lower than the angels so that he could suffer. Angels cannot suffer. Jesus was the tabernacle that God dwelt in.” So, what is simply the fullness of the Godhead bodily? God indwelling Jesus, period. Now Bro. Branham embellished this. He didn’t need to. You don’t need to say, “Three and three are six. Let me see, one, two, three, and three more, one, two, three. Okay, one, two, three, four, five, six; at last, I got it.” Forget it; forget it. What is the fullness of the Godhead bodily? God, Elohim, Jehovah, indwelling Jesus Christ, His Son, period. You want to go further, but you don’t need to, because you already know he was born of the virgin Mary. You know how the virgin birth took place; you understand that. So, what is the fullness of the Godhead bodily? God indwelling His Son, Jesus Christ. One person indwelling another. The lower is the body, which the Son is dwelling in; the upper came in at the River Jordan, stayed in there three and a half years, roughly. He left Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. In other words the fullness of the Godhead bodily is God incarnating Himself in His Only-begotten Son. Right? That is the definition. So, all right, let’s take the next thing we’ve should look at.

Come on, give me some kind of a break. 18. Let’s go over here to John 1, and let’s read It. John 1:18: (18) No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten (the uniquely begotten) Son of God, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath (led) him (forth by words.) (Or He hath made him known.) And It says right here at the end time, even at the time, I would say, at the Wedding Supper and all these great things that are going to transpire, we will know God through our Lord Jesus Christ. So, here we’re talking now, also we’re talking about ‘Godhead’, and I said in my own language, which is what I prefer to use concerning God or Godhead, because ‘Deity’, ‘God’, and ‘Godhead’ are one and the same. You can’t say, like the Trinitarians, “Godhead: that’s three in one. They make one God.”

So, you see why it’s very important to understand this doctrine. 5. Now, we’re going to teach very simply tonight. And I won’t have a chance to get in the compound titles of Jehovah, and all the names of Godhead, in order to bring out what is here in the Scripture. But, very briefly to begin with. Number one point: the Scripture emphatically declares that there are not three persons in the Godhead, but, that there is one God in the Godhead. And the Godhead is one person. Now, we’ll look at that, we’ll go to the Old Testament. And we’ll check it through according to what the Old Testament says. Because remember, it’s got to be in the Old, or it has no right being in the New. In Deuternomy 6:4-5 (4) Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: (5) …thou (shall) love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with

You may be seated. 1. Now last night we took what might have seemed a little, oh not exactly cohesive, and yet cohesive in a way of a discussion, but that’s the basis as we get into Godhead a little later on, because we have questions concerning that. And the thought was to thoroughly establish with you the fact of the family of God wherein we understand the very minute you use the word ‘Son’, there is no way you can actually pronounce coequality in any way, shape, or form, on the very basis of genesis. And we know that genesis of a son must come from a father, so the father is preeminent over the son, and the son is merely a continuation of the life of the father. So we always take the attitude that Jesus took toward the Father, and that Paul took toward the Father, and it was always “Blessed be the God and Father, or even the Father, of our Lord Jesus Christ.” And if you keep that in mind, it won’t be too difficult to understand Godhead, and that which comes forth from Godhead. Now of course we understand everything comes forth from Godhead. No matter how many times the Father gives the Son this magnificent place of preeminence, being called the only begotten Son, being equal with Him in a matter of inheritance, but not equal to Him in stature, because that could never be. Always the Son invariably is an agent, you may use the term, or that manifestation, or that Logos, which is used by God Himself, and we speak always of God in terms of being the Father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And it’s not two gods; it’s one God.

Or, “We should’ve known It, and we didn’t do It.” 38. So, your question here is a good question, but I don’t view this as punishment per se. I view this as a way of life that the man entered into. And though it was tough on him, it became the way that he could not get his way back to God himself—no way, shape, and form—but he could learn the way of God and the things of God while God stood for him. 39. [Question #3] “Would you please expound on what you specifically had in mind when you used the terms ‘Godheadedness’ and ‘Godhoodedness’. Well, first of all, there are no such words, but I use them anyway, because I want to show you something that is there, see. Now it’s Godhead and Godhood. And they’re both legitimate words. And, of course, the thing is, when you deal with Godhead, you deal with Deity. In fact, the word in the New Testament for ‘Godhead’ is ‘Deity’. It is simply God as God is, whether you know what God is, Who He is, what He does, what He has done, where He’s going from here, if He’s going anywhere. In other words Godhead is all about God, period, and nobody but God, and there’s only one God. There’s only one God, and He’s sovereign. It is an absolute unvariable.
  7. Godhead #1

But what I’m looking at here is: here you have a beginning and you have an ending of this particular time represented by the arc, although you understand, when this goes back here, which it goes back to eternity, God becoming All and in all, there is no way that any of this would be lost. 29. Now I’ll be making a point here for a second. If you have the Lamb on the throne, and you have God here, the Pillar of Fire, God becomes All and in all. Now, except for the Word of Almighty God, the covenants, and what God wanted, you could just safely rub this all out. [Bro. Vayle erases the Lamb, the pyramidal city (Bride), the 144,000, all other sons, and the connection between Beginning and Ending—all but the left three circles.] Here you are, right here, and this back in the loop. Now, do you understand what I’m trying to get to you? Godhead. Godhead. Jesus is not a part of the Godhead! Now, when you look at Philippians—speaking of Jesus being equal to God, who being in the form of God, Spirit form, though equal with God—you understand the law of the firstborn gives the son fifty percent of what the father has. I know no Scripture where Jesus is equal to God in the sense of the equality in Godhead. I know of no Scripture, because Jesus himself was the obedient Son who said, “I only say what the Father tells me to say, and I only do what the Father has me to do.”
  8. Leadership #13

    Lee VayleAugust 28, 1994at 47:09
I’m here to put you straight on ‘Godhead’.” Remember, the ‘Godhead’ revelation was under the Seventh Seal. The greatest single revelation was the oneness of the Godhead. So, that means Jesus-Only and all the rest don’t have a prayer! unless they turn around and find out what the truth is. “Well, Bro. Vayle, you know, before Bro. Branham preached the Seven Seals, you know, we understood.” That’s their attitude. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you did. Oh, boy, there was another liar hit the dust. It wasn’t that oneness of the Godhead wasn’t correct; it was as pure as the single, solitary fact: there is one God. Period! But God and His Son aren’t like my finger. 35. Now, as I said a few minutes ago: Bro. Branham, as a vindicated prophet, could never preach just to be saying something. He himself said that. We know his messages were vindicated and, therefore, “THUS SAITH THE LORD.” With this in mind we notice he called this period of time of the very presence of God as the ‘Word age’ and also said the ‘mind age’, wherein once you get past the eye, nothing is moving. So, if nothing is moving past the eye… And the neck is not part of the body. It’s that flange. And there’s only one joint I know of that you can actually use, (You’ve got muscles controlling your eyes and things.) that’s the jawbone. And the tongue’s in there. So, when the Head came down, He ‘jawboned’ us and He ‘tongued’ us. Kind of a crude expression, but it’s true. The jawboning was by “THUS SAITH THE LORD,” so we sat down and shut up.

You’ve honored me; I’m going to honor you.”) flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. Now he said, “You’ve recognized me as the Son of God; I’m recognizing you as a son of God.” And, how in the world are you going to have your Godhead all mixed up and say you recognize the Son of God, and he’s going to in turn recognize you? Here is the proof. If he did it this way, he’s got to do it that way, Bro. Branham said. And we’re dealing with the vindicated prophet. We’re not dealing with a bunch of men’s ideas here. (18) And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter (a little pebble), and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 5. So, when Bro. Branham categorically said, “The greatest revelation under the Seventh Seal, and all the seals was: There is one God,” there it is: the understanding of Godhead, because without the understanding of the Godhead, there cannot be any worship, and that is absolutely proven by the fact of the Scripture, that there was no worship of Almighty God, except through the recognition of the Son of God from the moment he was baptized in the River Jordan. You trace your history. The bruised reed he broke; the smoking flax he quenched. Show me any acceptance of the Jews by Jesus Christ, until in the Great Tribulation he appears to them, and makes himself known with the Gentile Bride in the palace of the King. You can’t find it. They’re gone—all except for a tiny remnant, until the Fifth Seal.

So, he was saying here: “There is One God, which we know to be true, and He is the Word.” 27. Now, let’s just look at some Scripture concerning the truth of the Oneness of the Godhead, not Jesus-Only, but the actual reality that there is one God. In Deut 6:4, “Hear O’ Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord.” So, you can see here, he’s speaking in terms of sovereign authority, because the word ‘god’ means ‘sovereign’, ‘standing alone’, so that no one can do anything about Him or what He does. In other words the whole world stands still in the presence of God, completely shackled and completely under His dominion so that He does exactly what He wants to do. So, there’s one God, and actually, there is none beside Him. Not only is there a Oneness of the Godhead, but make no mistake about it, there are not two or three of them that comprise a Godhead. It says over here in Isa 45:5:

    (23) Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all and in all. So, you see, what we talked about here on Godhead is very true. Now, from these Scriptures it can be seen perfectly that the Godhead is in a relationship with His Own Son, the Only-begotten, One-of-a-kind Son, and then all His other lesser children, but equally in that sense, precious in His sight. Otherwise the Son would not have died. 9. Now, please notice some Scripture that we want to read and understand correctly; and then, we’ll begin to see Godhead, and we’ll understand very clearly there is just one God, and He has a one-of-a-kind Son, and many children that were brought into Him through the redemption through the one-of-a-kind Son. And there’s a relationship there that is absolutely unique; there’s a relationship with us that’s unique, and it becomes an all and in all—a oneness. And this is what Bro. Branham brought out and Paul brings out and is very hard to understand on the grounds of we’re loathe to simply let every one of our conceptions go and simply take what God said.

There’s something wrong somewhere and it sure isn’t with God and His Holy Word and His wonderful prophet, William Branham, I can tell you that; nothing wrong with the vindication, hallelujah. 50. All right. [78-4] Now, we know, Father, no matter what we would say, it’s still Word and we believe It. But we desire Thee, Lord, on this Easter morning, (This Easter message, see?) that Thou would prove to this congregation, maybe some here for their first time, that You are still Jesus, that You’re not a dead form, that You are a living, resurrected God, that You live among us today. Grant that, Father, we’ll praise Thee, through Jesus’ Name. Now listen to me, if that… isn’t Jesus-Only talk…The Church Age Book has every bit of this in here what is pointing to Godhead; Godhead alone. See, you got people sat right in this church that didn’t believe, it’s the truth. Now come on, figure that one out right there and throw in there, the only begotten in the bosom of the Father. Now you tell me all about Godhead. Well, come on. That you’re still Jesus.

That’s why every knee shall bow at one time and every tongue confess to the glory of God that Jesus Christ is Lord. 47. Now He’s eternal, yes sir, and He is immortal, He cannot corrupt. Now, let’s just talk about this One. Now, all right, we’ll read here in The Entombment, “And then, no doubt in my mind but that’s what Jesus had in his mind when he was here on earth was that infallibility of God’s eternal Word. For we know that in him dwelt the fullness of the Godhead bodily, the entire Godhead was in him.” As Bro. Branham said, “God, plus Jesus Christ, was the fullness of the Godhead bodily.” “He was both Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, but dwelt in a human form, the theophany of God, the great image of God that He made man in, then placed him in the earth. He had a body. God is not without a body. God’s got a body, and it looks like a man. Moses saw it, others saw it, and it looks like a man.”
  14. Godhead Q&A #2

See? I just say it, bring it out flat, that God simply came into that body at the River Jordan, and now you have the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And, if it’s ‘fullness of the Godhead bodily’, it tells you this: that even if you stop short and want to say, all right, I don’t even believe that God, period, as God is, came in to anybody, even Jesus, then you look at the part that says, “fullness of the Godhead bodily.” Now you could, then, begin to limit how much God, or how much of Him, was there. Well, you don’t need to limit It. You just merely understand that this is the body and the only body that God could step into with His entire fullness. And in no time did He ever manifest Himself, not even in Moses, as He did in and through Jesus. How great the manifestation was! I mean it must have been so tremendous that it’s incomparable; so you can’t even compare it. It stands alone, and you believe it.
  15. Godhead Q&A #2

    Lee VayleOctober 8, 2000at 11:23Video available
And prophets are like us, except for offices that endow them beyond what any one or all laity possesses as concerning the revealed Word. So, that’s the fullness of the Godhead bodily. When God had the proper vessel, exactly as He wanted it, He could step into it and manifest Himself in His fullness. So, you’re looking at fullness, bodily. And, remember; He was Jehovah, so Jehovah lived and manifested in and through the body Jesus. 11. Now, what was the fullness directed at? Us! How much can we take? Who knows? What’s our capacity? But the fullness of the Godhead, as Bro. Branham said, is one hundred percent accurate, is when God came into the vessel of Jesus Christ. That is the manifestation. That is Godhead bodily. 12. Now, “as relates to the Son of God,” that’s exactly true, because as I said, this is the only way God will ever be in His fullness in a body. And the Father stepped into the Son. Jesus said, “Can’t you see that I am in the Father, the Father in me?” Now there again, if Jesus was separated from the Father intrinsically, as to substance and to life, then what’s the ‘me’? The body. Because then, he said, “Why hast thou left me?” “Why did you forsake me?” So, God came to and indwelt the Son in the River Jordan (about age thirty), and He left the Son in the Garden of Gethsemane about 33-1/2 years old, somewhere in that particular area.

All right. 62. [ ] …And then no doubt in my mind, but that’s what Jesus had in his mind when he was here on earth was that infallibility of God’s eternal Word. Now that was always what Jesus knew, infallibility, the Strong One Bound by an Oath, the Strong One Bound by an Oath, the Strong One Bound by an Oath. He can’t fail, and I can’t fail in trusting it. That’s why David said, “He will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is fixed on thee, because he trusteth in thee.” That’s a tremendous statement, and if you don’t go through the process, you don’t get it. For we know that “in him dwelt the fullness of the Godhead bodily.” Now listen: let’s understand what that is: the entire Godhead was in him. Now notice, he doesn’t say, “The entire God was in him; he says the ‘entire Godhead’.” In other words, “I am the Lord, and there is none beside me.”
  17. Spoken Word Is Original Seed BK1 #26

    Lee VayleMay 9, 1993at 1:09Video available
Amen. You may be seated. 1. Now we’re in number 26, and hopefully can finish this first book, this message on “Spoken Word is Original Seed”. Now, last night we emphasized the doctrine of God species as set forth by Bro. Branham based on Gen 1:26 wherein God declared His intention to proliferate by generations or through generations, His Own species, which are sons, which are His Own seed. 2. Now, had that been understood by some people here, there would not have been any trouble concerning Godhead. Godhead is the greatest problem today because Bro. Branham said, “The major revelation of the end time under the Thunders and under the Seals (Put it where you want.) “that there is one God and you must be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and that is THUS SAITH THE LORD.” So, if you for one minute think that this subject of Godhead will not be the bugaboo, the great stumbling block, then you don’t even know how to follow a vindicated prophet’s message because, if that is the great doctrine, you’d better believe that’s what’s going to be misunderstood, because no matter how large or how great anything from God and God Himself is presented, it becomes a stumbling block. So, all right.
  18. 2 Peter Thoughts on the Coming

But they never got past that. 7. Now you see right in here; [2 Peter 1:] (4) ... partakers of the divine nature,... (5) ... add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And, they died at that point. Because, there isn't either the Trinity or the Oneness, got any real conception of the Godhead. Now, that's where this church begin having problems. Because, there were those who couldn't see, what Oneness was in a wrong way, as from a true understanding of Godhead. Now, let's understand Godhead, once and for all. There's one God Who is Spirit, that is not flesh and bone. (See?) But this Spirit is Creator. And if He institutes a certain process of creating, then everybody ought to shut up, and say “Thank God He does it that way.” Instead of trying to pick their brains, and get to some place they have no jumping off place, (if they have it), they're going to fall into the abyss. Now, that may sound a little strange, what I said right here. But, merciful heavens, you ought to understand by now, what I'm driving at.
  19. An Exposition Of The Seven Church Ages

    William BranhamMay 12, 1954at 1:33:26
The revelation of WHO HE WAS had come back. Indeed Godhead is not a three-person God with one personality, for it takes personality to make a person. If there is ONE personality, there is but one person. But they who believe in three AN EXPOSITION OF THE SEVEN CHURCH AGES persons have a three god Godhead and are guilty of breaking the first commandment. But the revelation of Godhead is back. Now the true church can build in strength again. After all this time she finally knows Who her Lord is. Once again we are BAPTIZING IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS just as they did at Pentecost. Let me tell you of a God-given dream I had about triune baptism. This was not a vision, but a dream. You know, I am sure, that one of the blessings of the church ages was to receive dreams by the Holy Ghost, just the same as one can receive visions. It was about 3 a.m. on a Saturday morning. I had just gotten up to get Joseph a drink of water. When I lay down I fell asleep instantly and dreamed this dream. I saw a man that I supposed was my father. He was a great big burly man. I also saw a woman who was supposed to be my mother, but she didn’t look like her, even as the man did not look like my father. This man was very mean to his wife. He had a large club with three corners on it. You know when you take a log and set it up on end and hit it with an axe, it makes a three cornered wedge-like piece of fire wood. It was like that.

Godhead – Q&A #6 True to Himself–His Word February 3, 2001 Shall we pray. Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your Presence and Your grace and Your mercy to us. We ask You, Lord, that You keep us, help us to be ever mindful of Your Presence and walk in the light as You are in the light, having fellowship one with another, with the blood of Jesus Christ cleansing us. We pray, Lord, You’ll help us in our studies to the end that we may grow up in Christ, piling Word upon Word, until our lives are truly full of the Holy Spirit, and also led by the Holy Spirit. Whatever way we need to be led, we pray You’ll lead us. And we give You the glory. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen. You may be seated. 1. I want to talk a little bit about ‘Godhead’ tonight again because it seems that the only way to teach people what I see from where I’m coming from concerning God is to understand to the nth degree, that is, to the place where you don’t have any questions or thoughts that would come up in your mind concerning the sovereignty of God, and exactly Who God is, and how He actually conducts Himself and brings forth the things that we need to know. This, of course, is a desire and a cry for revelation as set forth in Ephesians 1.

Do you follow me? Now, that’s not double talk. That’s one hundred percent Scripture—one hundred percent the truth. And Bro. Branham explained that when he brought in genetics—God wrapping Himself in the sperm and the egg, which God created. See? Now, remember; God has a body. He wrapped Himself in there. What for? Because this was going to give the material, the genetic material and the circuitry and whatever was required for God to be able to inhabit that body, for He is holy. Do you think He could actually reside in a body that wasn’t holy? Now we’re talking about the fullness of the Godhead bodily, not God just being nice to us because we’re His children. We’re talking about the fullness of the Godhead bodily at this point. 10. So, we find here: (6) …them (which) are perfect: yet not the wisdom of the world, nor the princes of this world, that come to (nothing).

They make one God.” You can’t say like the Jesus-Only: “Jesus is God. He is his own father: God, simply in three offices.” That’s not Godhead. Godhead is indisputably one, entire, unique, unfathomable, mysterious, omnipotent, omniscient Person—absolutely alone, period. That’s God. And He, to me, when you talk of God, you’re talking of substance, or substantially: that which actually is foundational—whatever you want to say. I use the terms ‘intrinsic’ and ‘essential’. They are almost identical. You could really use one almost as a synonym, but I don’t. ‘Intrinsic’ means ‘belonging to the real’. In other words it’s not diluted; it is not adulterated; it is not changed because indeed it cannot be in the sense that no matter how you try, how you may divert it to a use that it should not be used for, whatever you do can in no way change it—can’t do it. As the Bible says, “Nothing can be done against the truth or for it.”

He is complete within Himself, and nothing external or separate from Him (I could use a pronoun there like ‘it’, but I don’t do it.) can qualify as Godhead. Now I want to ask you a question: Does birth designate separation, or not? Why, sure it does, and then you cut the umbilical cord. Right? So, Jesus is separate. Right? Then he’s not God. No way. …and nothing external or separate from Him can qualify as Godhead. And that’s because there are no other gods beside Him. I’m going to put ‘none other’—‘none other beside’. 34. Now, what do you think would happen if somebody rose up and sat beside Him? Death! He can’t tolerate it. Not that He’s a bigot, “Well, I’m God, I did it. I control things.” That’s not it at all. It’s not… It just can’t be done. It can’t be done. What happened to the king who tried to interfere with the sacrifice? He got paid a big price for that.

He said, “Lee, I don’t have any feelings of guilt.” A person once quoted me as saying that I said, “Bro. Branham had no guilt complexes.” I never said that. He never had guilt complexes, but he was guilty. He felt guilty about certain things. There’s no man living that doesn’t feel guilty about certain things. I feel guilty about things I shouldn’t feel guilty about, and often times I don’t feel guilty about things I should feel guilty about. And that’s perfectly scriptural. I’m not saying it’s right to be that way. I’m saying it’s perfectly scriptural, because Paul said, “The things that I would do, I don’t; and the things I wouldn’t do, I do.” [Rom 7:15] He said, “Oh man, I am caught.” But you see, that was before the Nazarenes called it entire sanctification; but we call it the baptism of the Holy Ghost. 9. Now tonight I don’t even have a title, but this is the last in the series on the Godhead. And I’m going to talk about the Godhead, the Father and the Son, and Good Friday.

In other words I had a choice. See, God gives you a choice. But the choice is His choice. “Come now, let us reason together.” He said, “We’ve got something to reason on. I’ll tell you my reasons.” “There’s one mediator between God and men,” and yet God is one. He comes down, and He says, “Hey, I’ll mediate you.” You say, “Just a minute now. A mediator, that’s between two people. He sits here, and he gets the two people together.” “Well, that’s what I do!” …?… convict you of your sins. He’s lovable isn’t he? A very lovable person. 31. Now, let’s just go over here to 1 John. Yeah, we’ve got to talk about John over here. You know, he’s the one that really brings this thing together. The others eulogize Jesus, and so they should eulogize him. But, when they eulogize him, they make the people that read the Bible make him a second person of the Godhead, and he’s not a second person of the Godhead. He’s the Only-begotten, the First-begotten, of Almighty God. And there was nothing to form him from. There was no other person there. There was nothing there when that light formed, which was that Logos, which was the son. And the only difference between Jesus and his father is: sons have beginnings. You know, God never did have a birthday, but Jesus did; that is, the human part of him did. We’ve got a part of us that never had a birthday either, but it had a birth as a son. It was a part of God. It just came from God. See, Jesus bypassed his body. We came direct from God. A little difference. It’s okay. Anyway, let’s get to John.
  26. Understanding The Times Which we Live

John 8:41, You see, Jesus said, (41) (You) do the deeds of your father. They said to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God. They understood the Godhead. They understood their relationship to God. They said, "God is our Father." They had a firm strong statement concerning relationship to the Godhead. In verse 33 (33) They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and never (were) in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, (You) shall be made free? They understood their lineage. They knew they were the chosen people. At least that was their confession. They claimed the assured relationship to God. But were they right? No. Because their relationship to God was not based upon the Word. The Scripture that Jesus Himself said, "They made void the very Word of God." And rendered It null, because of their traditions. And yet they took their stand that they were God's people.

That's what they must believe, that's all that can think of. As Israel made Jesus a man, and rejected him as a man, so now there is a church rejects the complete revelation of Godhead that Jesus is Jehovah. Now, go into some of the technical Scripture concerning it, because the others backgrounding it. The Scripture declares there is but one God in the Godhead, and that God is one Person. 37. Now, let's go back to the Book of Deuteronomy, (the trouble is, we've got about a hundred verses on this to look up, and we won't have time to do it. We'll just cover some Scripture and let the rest go this morning.) Deuteronomy 6:4-5 (4) Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: (One master, one God) (5) And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

Because Peter said at the last day, and he started with Pentecost as the Alpha, and today the Omega, he said God's Spirit would be upon everybody and anybody. And there'd be these false ones rise up with signs and wonders. Now John is talking. Now he says, I have not written unto you because you know not the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth. Who is a liar but he that denieth Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist that denieth the Father and the Son. Now there you are right today. Now that's the true gospel of Godhead. Not that there's a son in Godhead, as though the Son were God, but he is the Son of God. It is generically and genetically now a race which God started and a kingdom of God the Father, the great King, and the Prince of Peace, who is the Lord Jesus Christ. And His subjects are people like you and me. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father.

[Verse 10]: “Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me?” Now you’ve got your conversation going back and forth here. Son and Father. [Verse 10]: “Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that…” (Now, here’s the explanation.) “The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me,” So now, you’ve got a statement here that the words that are being spoken here are not being spoken by Jesus. He’s become a sounding board. I know it sounds kind of confusing, but there is no confusion to it at all. The fact of the matter is that God indwelt the Son, and the fullness of the Godhead was in Jesus bodily. Now, that terminology belongs to Jesus and to nobody else. I know other people think different, but I cannot agree with them. It belongs only to Jesus; the fullness of the Godhead indwelt him bodily.

    (29) Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s (desire). (30) And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: (31) Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead. 2. And over here in Rom 1:18-21 It speaks thusly: (18) For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold (back) the truth in unrighteousness; (19) Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath showed it unto them. (20) For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

[80] ...when this Holy Spirit that we have, becomes incarnate to us, the One that's in our midst now in the form of the Holy Ghost, becomes incarnate to us in the Person of Jesus Christ, we'll crown Him Kings of kings,... And He'll be Son of God, Son of man, Son of David, the I AM, Rose of Sharon, Lily of the Valley, Morning Star. Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. He will be particularly Emanuel God with us. See? Everyone of those, because at that time there will be the absolute fullness of the Godhead in an incarnation where Bro. Branham puts it all at that particular time. But you notice that previous to that he did not do so. 33. Now, here is where we're going to get lost. Say was nice talking to you, but we'll go over something else. Okay. How are we going to do it? [Bro. Vayle draws on a board] Let's start up here with God. And Bro. Branham said, "Out of God came the Logos." And he said, "That would be attribute of the fullness of the Godhead bodily."

And he said, "That would be attribute of the fullness of the Godhead bodily." So therefore, [adjusts microphone] Now he said, "Here, this Logos here would be the attributes of God, the fullness of the Godhead bodily." He said, "That is what constitutes, because this coming from God would be literally God the Father down here just as much as up here." But, as I look at this understanding of God, we are seeing how that God is literally manifesting Himself. Now, I'm going to read you something here. "In the Greek, in the Classical Greek, Logos was both the spoken Word by which an inward thought was expressed, and the inward thought itself." Now, that's tough. I'm not a Philadelphia lawyer and I'm not a Greek student. That's idyllic in Classical Greek. Now you see, this sounds like...sure the guy is a nut to say it that way, because any fool would know it. But it's a whole lot deeper, and this is where I'm going to start struggling.

That’s the Statue (or the stature of the Statue.) In other words, what you want to see is the manifestation, and that manifestation is going to have to be what God wants to absolutely come forth in what is visible. You see, a statue is merely a replication of something that’s out there, an inanimate form. So, he’s talking about stature, I believe, and statue at the same time, the manifestation. 41. [61] Now, this (see) reflected His loving, noble character, God reflected in a man, called Jesus Christ. So, God’s going to present what God Himself really is, not representatively, not just a representation, but actuality. “The Father in me doeth the works; the father in me gives the words to say.” We’re dealing with actuality. Even though a man is presenting it, even though God is working through a form, it is God Himself in His Own Godhood as Godhead, yet limited, because God cannot Himself even go beyond His own Godhead and Godhood. How can He? It’s proven by elements; elements are elements.

There's a lot in there that doesn't pertain to me, but by the grace of God I'm going to be out of here. What Word? The Word of the hour. John the Baptist never took them back to Noah's day, he never took them back to Moses' day. He took them to that present hour and introduced the Messiah. Now see, what I'm trying to get you to start thinking is this: what is all this talk about introducing a Messiah in this hour? Because you see, really I think there's quite a few of you even sitting here this morning and you... look, I hope I'm wrong. I hope I'm wrong, but I know I'm not wrong, because I've got trouble too. You're sitting here this morning and you're still confused about Godhead. And if something hadn't happened that nobody likes to see happen you'd be very confused about Godhead. Because there's one God. And Jesus is not God, the man, because the Scripture says, "The God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." [Eph 1:3] God fathered Him as nobody has ever been fathered outside of Him, but Jesus is not God. Only, when God steps into Him. Now, He's the attributes of God. And He that sees attributes sees Producer of attributes, though He doesn't see Producer of attributes.

See, that’s it, “God said it.” Now, that’s what Bro. Branham said, “Say, just what I say,” because he knew positively there were those who could not handle it as it was taught. It’s just like Godhead; all you got to do is firmly believe there’s one God. There’s not two, there’s not three; forget it. I’ve preached it, and they say, “Bro. Vayle, you’re teaching two personalities, and you’re preaching two gods because it was eternal.” I said, “Just a minute, isn’t part of you eternal?” “Oh yes, oh yes, oh yes. Part of me’s eternal.” “Is that part God?” “Oh yes, oh yes, oh yes.” “How many think are really born again?” “Oh, maybe two million.” “Then you’ve got two million gods!” You still don’t believe it do you? You’re still kooked out in your thinking. Are you? See, you don’t believe you came from God. Can’t you understand He’s the chief Shepherd? He’s the chief Son. He’s the Only-begotten Son, and in Him alone was the fullness of the Godhead bodily! That means restrictions. It’s the definition. You and I are not sons of God to whom was given the Spirit without measure. Huh?

And by that time, we’re piling Word upon Word until the Holy Ghost can move in and through us. And that’s the trouble: we are not believing that Word as we should. As I tried to show you the other day, there are two things Bro. Branham said, “If you only believed who I am, you’d all be healed.” [Key #1: See “If You Only Knew Who I Am,” Lee Vayle, 11/30/85.] If you believe the virgin birth as he taught it, you’d be healed. No more cancers; no more bad eyesight. All healed. [Key #2: See “Godhead #2,” Lee Vayle, 10/3/99.] Now, John said, “And this is the confidence we have in him; if we ask anything concerning his will, we know that He hears us, and if we know that He hears us, we know we have the petition we desired of Him.” [Key #3: See “Godhead #8,” Lee Vayle, 3/5/00.] Now the thing is, does He hear us? The Bible distinctly says, he that turneth away his ear from hearing my Word, I will turn my ear away from hearing his prayer. If we have not turned our ear away from hearing His Word, there’s got to come a time when healing comes naturally to every one of you people sitting there. Begin to believe it! I’m trying to show you where this works. And I’m impotent; I’m not God. I’m 85½ years old. I’ve got problems. So, I’m not standing here for fun, and you’re not either, or you wouldn’t listen to me preach this way.

But, let’s go further.) (6) And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. (How much is that fulfilled? You don’t get much argument on that, that that’s a future thing, although Peter could actually sustain that as present also.) (7) Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. (8) I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. (And that lets you know that there’s a continuity in God, that Godhead is so bound within Godhead that He cannot change, any way, shape or form or time. Then, how could God become His Own son? He indwelt His son, just the same as He indwells me and you who are sons, but not in the same measure, to the same extent, for the same purpose. It’s every man in his order, and according as God ordered it to make up that body, with Christ, the Head. Okay.)

He now is Jehovah-Elohim, the self-existent One with a relationship within Him to those attributes, or thoughts, that are within Him but not yet displayed. So, having the ability and being Logos, Elohim Logos, now He is literally Logos; and He lays it out first; it’s all there, picks it up, puts it together, gathers together, moves in on it. If He is Jehovah-Elohim, He’s now embarked upon being truly Logos. He’s got a relationship to what is within Him as those parts. Now listen. We don’t comprise Godhead. We are simply His thoughts and a part of Him—miniscule. You couldn’t get a microscope, trillions of powers, to even look at it if you could. So, in His Godhoodedness, He has got to bring forth the Only-begotten Son. Now He is manifestly Jehovah-Elohim and proving to be ‘Logos God’. Jehovah-Elohim. Logos. Godhead. 51. Now God in and through the Son; God creating all things by Christ Jesus. Scripturally, God created all things by Christ Jesus. It didn’t say Jesus is doing it. It said God’s doing it. The Son is now empowered with the omniscience and omnipotence in a measure. ‘In a measure’ because God doesn’t use it all, just that measure in His Son and through His Son and by His Son as is necessary for the glory and grace of God and getting His purpose done.

Put It in the womb of the virgin Mary, tide It in there with those cells, and begin drawing the substance of the human body to produce a man. Now, therefore that which was born of Mary was the Son of God, period. No way It could be anything else, then God indwelt Him. Now, what I'm trying to show you is this, this was the only One that could be the Lamb of God, the Blood of God that took away the sin of the world. But you could put the self, same Logos into Moses, that wouldn't take away the sin of the world, be a revelation. You could put the same Logos in William Branham, neither one would be God. Neither one the Son of God. Neither one the Son of man. No way, no way, shape or form. But they could be carriers. You follow what I'm saying? Because neither one had to die. They were only revealers. Say, I'm not against believing that the fullness of the Godhead could be Bodily amongst us in One Person, though I believe that Bro. Branham's statement were more conclusively the fullness of the Godhead Bodily as being in the Bride.

Say, I'm not against believing that the fullness of the Godhead could be Bodily amongst us in One Person, though I believe that Bro. Branham's statement were more conclusively the fullness of the Godhead Bodily as being in the Bride. Now, you say, "I think it's both ways." Well I won't argue. I can see both ways. I got no trouble. You see I got no trouble anywhere seeing these things, I'm not definitive in my conclusion. And I don't even care to be, because I'm definitive with one conclusion that the Son of man is here in Spirit form, and proved that He was that One by doing what He did when He was here in the flesh. The Logos has Appeared this much I know, He is Present. And you can put the Presence anyplace you want in the future, and I'm telling you this, "If you miss this Presence, forget it!" There's no more worth a plug nickel to you, because I'll read it to you.

    (8) And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and (the) four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. (9) And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, nation; (10) And (Thou) hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we (will) reign on the earth. Now listen, you see what God raised Him up to? And you see the mission that God applied to Him. Now, we’re looking at this very carefully. Because when you’re dealing with this, you simply cannot bypass with this the understanding of the incarnation. Though at this time God is not incarnated in Him. Because of His works, meritorious as to what He has done, all power in heaven and earth, absolutely is shared by Him, as though He alone were Godhead in simplicity. But He is not Godhead in simplicity, or implicitly. He’s the Son of God. And He’s called a man. He’s called a High Priest, and He’s got a service to do. (Huh?) I won’t say anything there. I could sort of stagger you right there. Some words that Bro. Branham said.

Don’t play the fool!) (17) For therein (the Word of Almighty God) is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith. Started way back in Eden, and it ends in this age, when the prophet said he himself would reveal the things that were not known from before the foundation of the world. Oh, you say, “That’s too much. That’s too much.” It’s not too much for me. That’s the only way I ever understood Godhead. If he had not told me about the Son coming forth, I would not have understood Godhead. I would have been still crossed up between Jesus-Only and the Trinitarians. (18) For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who hold back the truth in unrighteousness. (What do they do? They deliberately hold it back and do opposite, muddle It, mess It up, and thoroughly confuse you) because that which may be known of God is manifest in them for God has showed it unto them.

That’s right. This is what he said now, look, he said, “Look it, I’m vindicated to tell you about Godhead. I’m also telling you about grace, and as you’re off on Godhead believing in two and three and one in a wrong way, you’re off on grace believing it in a wrong way.” Now you’ll find that borne out what I’m telling you. “The Father dwells in me.” I had porridge this morning, the porridge is in me. I am not the porridge, and the porridge is not I and according to the laws of nature, the porridge is giving me energy whereby I’m speaking and standing here and living because no food I will die. And it is God in us willing and doing of His good pleasure but this measure is different. This was a special body prepared that God Himself inhabited and God was going to very shortly inhabit that body again and it could be within five years, it could be within four years even within the next six months, three and a half year tribulation, actually before then. It could be three…it could be any time, months, because the incarnation takes place at the Wedding Supper. You don’t have to go through the tribulation, but I mean coming back. I was thinking of coming back and I got my wires crossed. There we got it corrected. Okay.

There’s not one, Lord, that you left to chance, but You came down Yourself to ensure it, taking us up all over it. And I pray, Lord, there won’t be one of us here miss it. And help us to study Your Word this morning, Father—grace given to us, understanding, faith, Lord, right down the line, to apprehend It all, Lord, and to believe It in a way we never believed before, and then to live It in a way we never lived It before. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen. You may be seated. 1. Now, in “Facts of Our Faith” I think we’re number four this morning. And last Sunday we were discussing what we termed ‘the Godhead’. And this absolutely is a Scriptural term and is found in three places in Scripture in the New Testament: Acts 17:29, Rom 1:20 and in Col 2:9. And each time you’ll find that the word Godhead refers to divinity or the supreme and sovereign God. In other words, it puts it right out there in a realm of the invisible God, but God is there.

In other words, it puts it right out there in a realm of the invisible God, but God is there. So, if we look at Acts 17:29, It says: “Forasmuch, then, as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto silver, or gold, or stone, or get graven by art and man’s device” and so on. That’s an ignorant conception, but there can be a true conception, evidently, according to Paul. And in here people had a wrong understanding but they knew there had to be a God somewhere. This is the thing that really perturbs me at an hour where there’s so many people that are supposed to be atheists. And actually when it boils down to it, they’re not real atheists, they’re just not worshipping God as they ought to be worshipping God. 2. Now, in this verse 29 Paul refers to God as the Creator, the Provider, the Father, and the One who is to be worshipped. And then over here in Rom 1:20 It says: “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead: so that they are without excuse:”
  46. Facts of Our Faith #4

    Lee VayleFebruary 17, 1991at 3:46Video available
Even though God Himself is personally invisible, and though that’s true, Paul says one can tell from creation that there is a sovereign God, and man somehow has to be in the image of that One, or you might say related to It, which He did say according to Acts 17:29. 3. Then, in Colossians 2, Paul refers to Godhead again, and in verse 9 It says concerning Jesus, “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.” Now Paul becomes absolutely definitive concerning sovereign deity, and to quote Bro. Branham, who is really quoting from Paul here, he said, “Christ is the mystery of God revealed.” In other words, God is a very mysterious being. You cannot see Him; you cannot feel Him; you cannot hear Him, but you’re looking out there and you know there’s got to be something somewhere that is in control. There’s got to be something somewhere that did this, and something that is controlling it, and something that you look down the road to, but there’s got to be something out there. Now Bro. Branham said that great mystery is purely defined and revealed in Christ.

You come on; come on. And people say, “Oh well, I… That-that-that fine man couldn’t do it.” Let him get vindicated. And you know what he’ll be? He’ll be as tough as Moses. And yet they have to call him the meekest man in the world. He’ll be as tough as Jesus, clean out their seminaries and their stinking places they call the place of worship, dedicated to God. They got a right to be cleaned out. They gave ‘em to God, and God can take ‘em back too. No, they don’t understand; they don’t intend to understand. 37. Listen, here’s another Scripture we want to look at. Over here in 1 John 2. Because we’re talking about Godhead. We want to get this Godhead straightened out. Not this junk that they’re preaching around the world, but what the Bible says, vindicated by a prophet—manifested, revealed by a prophet. 1 John 2:18, beginning.

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, (because his) mind is (fixed) on thee:” [Is. 26:3] We have come to a rest; and if you cannot come to the place of the definitive understanding of Godhead, you are in a position to be trapped. That’s why the major revelation under the Seventh Seal, the opening and the Thunders was: “There is one God and you must be baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.” All right: that’s what we’re looking at. 10. So they now get off from the truth of Godhead into a peripheral which are no gods but are the gods of their imagination. Now remember, at the same time Satan enters the arena. And he had transformed himself into an angel of light, which means a bringer of truth or the Word of God. And his own ministers have transformed themselves into ministers of God which means they’re just like these birds right here who cannot accept the definitive but go outside of the definitive and say, “No, this is true God over here.” So we’ve got a Father, Son and Holy Ghost and heaven knows what else… They’ve got reincarnation and everything under God’s high heaven, that’s why the Catholic church is such a mess; in her is everything and the Protestants going back; she’ll have everything. Complete diabolical heresy and diabolical worship. And the whole thing ends up in Satan and they glorify it. You say, “Brother, I just can’t understand how that can be?” I can’t either and I don’t give two bits of my time worrying about it. I don’t belong to them, anymore than I try to spend Rockefeller’s money, I don’t have a chance at it. Just leave it be; let it go. I’m not interested.

Branham said on a previous knowledge, which could be in error. See, that’s what I’m telling you Jesus-Only did. They said, “Oh, Bro. Branham’s Jesus-Only. Oh hey, we’re fine.” Oh, God. Don’t you understand the biggest revelation was: there is one God? And the Seven Seals corrected the errors. So therefore, Godhead as one God had errors. And that’s Jesus-Only. And the Trinitarians all fell for it. Some people have an idea that, if I were to write the Church Age book all over again, I’d have to change the portion on Godhead. Like fun I would. I’d just add one more or two more chapters so you’d really know what was going on.

And He’s faithful to [His Word]. 50. Now watch what Paul said. (2) Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. Faithful to what? “Oh, I’m faithful to God. Hallelujah. I love my wife. I’d never cheat on her. She loves me. She’d never cheat on me. Got a nice family. I tithe. I do this; I do that. See? I’m a Christian.” Well, just a minute. Explain the Godhead. “Well, the Godhead is really a mystery, but there’s three of them.” What steward are you of? You’re not a steward of God--the mysteries of God. Well, you see Bro. Vayle, there’s really only one; there’s Jesus only.” Oh come on. Bro. Branham said, “Now, there’s two of them: One’s Father; one’s Son.” You’re not a steward that’s faithful. You’re a steward, but you’re not faithful. You’re not part of the faithful God. You understand? Because faithfulness has to do with the Word, the Covenants.
